Just recently I read a Forbes article about online writing. Well, if I couldn’t convince my students to get to the point in their writing in the past, then maybe this article will serve as inspiration for their future work. Most students have accounts on Myspace, Facebook, LiveJournal, Tumblr, and other blog websites. Those that like to write about their “stuff” might realize that getting to the point is basic to good communication. A good writer doesn’t want to go on and on about a topic that leads nowhere. Online readers have short attention spans to the point that it might already have been diagnosed as a mental disorder. But that’s another topic.
The article might serve as a starting point to refresh basic writing skills. See the full article at When-writing-online-content-get-to-the-point
